Day 1 :

Arrive in Moshi, final preparations for the climb.

You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. The rest of the day is for relaxation, final gear checks, and a comprehensive pre-trek briefing with your guide.

Day 2 :

Machame Gate (1,800m) to Machame Camp (3,000m)

The journey begins with a drive to the Machame Gate. After park formalities, you will start your ascent through the lush, misty rainforest. The trail is well-maintained but can be muddy. You will arrive at Machame Camp in the late afternoon for dinner and your first night on the mountain.

Day 3 :

Machame Camp (3,000m) to Shira Camp (3,840m)

Leaving the rainforest behind, the terrain changes to moorland, offering stunning views of Kibo Peak. The path is steeper in some sections. As you reach the Shira Plateau, you'll be rewarded with panoramic views and the chance to acclimatize to the higher altitude.

Day 4 :

Shira Camp (3,840m) to Barranco Camp (3,950m) via Lava Tower (4,600m)

This is a crucial acclimatization day. You will ascend to the dramatic Lava Tower for lunch, reaching an altitude of 4,600m. This "climb high, sleep low" strategy is key for adapting your body to the altitude. You will then descend into the beautiful Barranco Valley to set up camp.

Day 5 :

Barranco Camp (3,950m) to Barafu Camp (4,600m)

The day begins with the famous Barranco Wall, a thrilling but manageable scramble that requires some light climbing. After navigating the wall, you'll trek across a series of ridges and valleys, eventually reaching Barafu Camp, the base camp for your final summit push.

Day 6 :

Barafu Camp (4,600m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Mweka Camp (3,100m)

The most challenging day begins just after midnight. You will climb for 6-8 hours, reaching Stella Point (5,756m) in time for a breathtaking sunrise over the African plains. A final hour of trekking will take you to Uhuru Peak, the summit of Kilimanjaro. After celebrating, you'll begin your rapid descent to Mweka Camp.

Day 7 :

Mweka Camp (3,100m) to Mweka Gate (1,640m)

The final day is a gentle descent through the rainforest. At Mweka Gate, you will receive your official summit certificates before being driven back to Moshi for a celebratory dinner and a much-deserved shower.

How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

For the Kilimanjaro trek portion of your trip, a good to high level of physical fitness is required. While you do not need to be an experienced mountaineer, you should be comfortable with multi-day hiking and trekking.

Trekking: You will be hiking for an average of 5-7 hours per day, with the summit day being a demanding 12-14 hours. The terrain is varied and can be challenging.
Cardiovascular Health: Strong cardiovascular fitness is essential to cope with the high altitude and continuous exertion. We recommend a training regimen of regular hiking, cycling, or running for at least 3 months prior to your trip.
Strength and Stamina: You should be able to comfortably carry a daypack (5-7 kg) over varied terrain for extended periods.

The safari portion of the trip is not physically demanding and is suitable for all fitness levels. We strongly recommend consulting with your doctor before booking to ensure you are medically fit for high-altitude trekking.
